Looking for a Father's Day gift? Come on, it's never too early to shop for your pops.

Here are two devices that could come in quite handy and help prevent dad from getting in trouble with the law.

The BlueAnt Z9i headset and Supertooth 3 hands-free unit are handy, especially in light of the passing of Ontario's law pertaining to cellphones and driving.

The headset features dual microphones, noise cancelling and wind reduction features that help remove background noise so people can hear you, as well as the ability to connect to two phones at once. It's small (about four centimetres long) and weighs only 11 grams with the ear hook.

Answering calls and hanging up are simple, done with the touch of a large button at the back of the unit.

The sound is clear and there are no complaints about the microphone, which worked well under all driving conditions.

The handsfree unit, meanwhile, uses text-to-speech tech that announces the name of the person calling you in up to six different languages (you have to upload your phone's directory to its memory for this to work).

I read the reviews not only here on the Amazon site but also on other sites. The BlueAnt has met ever expectation I had. It is clear when listening to others speak, they think I am on the house phone when I talk and others in the car can chime in at normal tone. It is light weight and the magnetic clip is good idea for security and it has yet to have fallen off the visor. I highy suggest this item. The only reason I gave it a 4 star rating was because nothing is perfect.

I haven’t tried it in the car yet, just received it today. I am going to give it a week and see if it will do for my needs. However, I am very disappointed already. Like many people today, I carry two phones, one business, one personal, so I specifically needed a unit that could handle multiple phones, and the information said this unit could handle up to 5.

What the information did not say was ONLY ONE AT A TIME.

You have to manually switch between phones, the fact that the unit “remembers” the different phones speeds the process but it still takes several seconds to manually disconnect one phone and reconnect the other. I fear that by the time I punch through the menus, even with short cuts, I will have defeated the purpose of getting the hands free.
